... the streets and reached Dam Square. There were people everywhere, most people I would say were 18-30 year olds. We walked through a section of the red light district and then had some drinks at a pub by Dam Square before heading back to our room.

Our room was very small with a double bed pushed right up against the window (We had a King in Paris so were used to that!). I didn’t sleep very well the first night, the bed was springy and I kept ...

... out to Wassenaar with Dustin, a guy I met in Bruge. It took us about 3-4 hours to go there and back and was quite a nice ride mostly part of it along the coastline. I quite possibly had one of the best burgers I've had on this trip in Wassenaar, man was that tasty (and to be clear I was sober at the time)! The weather was nice only for one of the days, but overall it was still a pretty relaxing place to be anyways.

... until we were allowed to use our electronics and took out my iPad so excited to connect to wifi and download the attachment of her book that Beth sent for me to read on my flight. No connection appeared to be available, so I called the flight attendant over and shrieked in horror as I watched her say:"There's no wi-if on the aircraft." Are you freaking kidding me, Ric************???? Ugh...I'm going to bed. So, I slept as much as possible until it was ...

... We started in Dam Square, where the National monument is. The most poignant feature of this is the wall behind, where there are a number of plaques to each part of "the Dutch nation" including Indonesia, who fought in WWII. Underneath each plaque a "unknown person" from that area is buried. The Palace in Dam Square stared life as a town hall, but was taken as a palace by Napoleon's brother when he was made "king" of the Netherlands by Napoleon. The Protestant church nearby is ...

... had about two hours to waste until we had to head to the airport so we chose the Van Gogh museum from a bunch of museum options and went and hung out there. It's the largest collection of Van Gogh paintings in the world so it was nice to see it all without the annoyance that we had in the MoMA when there's usually just one big painting present. We eventually left, I was dragged away because I wanted to buy stuff in the shop... It was a pretty good little museum and a good finish to the trip!
