    ... then trying to find the local bus station to buy 9 tickets on the local bus. Of course following the signs, we ended up in the parking garage. Height was not an issue, fortunately, but getting the van into a space was. But it was not impossible, and soon we were on our way to the bus - that every sign we passed said was only 50 meters away.

    ... up out of concrete beaches. So, while we had an excellent meal at a local seafood restaurant, the boys were already beginning to discuss what they like about the beach in North Carolina. I think we were getting some serious homesickness vibes. The only thing that seemed to bring joy to them was the plate loaded with fresh mussels, Blake's new favorite drink 'Cockta', and the thought that there might still be a beach to be found tomorrow.

    ... thunder/lightning started with about 5 stops to go till ours. And as we approached our stop the sky opened up with rain like we've never seen before. Thank goodness our hotel is only 300 feet (about a football field) from the station - we were making a run for it!, In slippery-when-wet flip flops, with the camera, whatever - let's go!     ... cafes are few and far between in Venice and no one could direct me to one. At this stage it was nearly 10am and I needed to pack and check out, so I grumpily marched back to my B&B where I complained to the manager, Roberto, that I was having no luck.
