    So the day after Venice and still no break in the heat, well more the humidity is so very close. There is little to no breeze and the temperature doesn't seem to change much day to day or day to night for that matter, but mustn't complain!     ... and then hit the beach later. Mrs T is on tenterhooks while she waits for the washing machine. A kind tattooed Dutch lady assisted the wife with the machine.     ... and to eat, and it was by far the best meal in Europe so far and the cheapest. It was already dark now (it gets dark at about 4:30-5pm), so we hitched a ride on the Vaporetto back into Venice to call it a night.  We made a brief stop at the St Maria of Salute Basilica which we hadn't had a chance to see up close and headed back to our hotel.     ... s not what we came for anyway! Then to Burano. The colorful houses on the island would have been much more beautiful to see if it hadn't been cloudy and rainy. We were told by a local that the reason they painted the houses such colorful colors was because the ship captains needed to be able to see the houses to navigate their way through.
