... super clear so we decided to look for shells rather than swim or lay out. We found some great ones (don't worry Mary, some are headed your way!) and had fun walking through the water on the hunt. Around 6:30 we decided to head back and we couldn't have picked a better time. Today's route basically followed the coast road from Trieste (Italy) to Piran (Slovenia). Stunning coastal scenery of which the majority of it was flat but with some reasonably steep hills squeezed in between tiny coastal hamlets. Muggia was our first experience of tiny off road streets which were too narrow to fit vehicles down but good enough for us to avoid town traffic.
