... being commies. What we have seen so far has been largely middle class and rich looking, which is hard to fathom when the only 'industry' you can see is riding around on kiddies tractors pulling up turnips to eat with 'grout'. No that's not being disparaging. I've just described the national dish. No wonder they eat so much pizza.
And now I'm worried I'm funding fascism. But at least it's fascism on the cheap. Unlike Austria.

... quick phone call to booking.com they agreed that it was not acceptable (it also was not in fine print about facilities) and found us a new hotel to contact immediately (as rooms are limited in this holiday spot). One phone call to Hotel Marita and yes sir we have a suite for cheaper then other hotel, yes our pool works and yes we have A/C that also works oh and you don't have to walk 400m down the street (as that was how far it was).
Today is my presentation day! My presentation was in the first morning session on the subject of viral gene expression, after the coffee break. Before my presentation, I couldn't really focus on anything else so that is all I really worked on until then. Thankfully, my presentation went well and Tyshia was kind enough to take a picture of ...
... I even found a virus on the streets of Trieste (see picture below). Molly and I are giving presentations at the meeting so we worked on our talks for a little while after we came back to the hotel. I still felt pretty jet lagged so I didn't stay up too late.

... mountains. The water of the Soca River is bright turquoise and absolutely beautiful! The town we are in tonight, Bovec, is very small. The apartment is nothing to get excited about, but it's only 1 night and it's relatively inexpensive! We have loved every minute of our travels in Slovenia. Tomorrow we will drive through the country's only national park, which has 50 hairpin turns...something tells me that will be both exciting and ...
