Dan owned a 30ft yacht in the marina and had sailed it from Panama to Brittany in France and then through Frances canal system to the Med. He was now sailing south to Spain. He was extremely friendly and generous, almost immediately offering us to use his bicycles to check out the town and surrounding area. We declined as we had already planned to do a hike up to another fort on a hill above the town, so he ...

The following day loomed bright and beautiful. Milly had been regaling us with stories of hot chocolate and churros so we went in search of them – to no avail, but we did find that overnight a huge market had set up along the waterfront in L’Escala. I guess the locals are sick and tired of people asking them to take pics...

... camp activities we enjoyed, ie: bicylce hire, karaoke, daily visits to the bakery for sweet custard donuts and chocolate crossaints, lots of swimming, entertainment etc, we also managed a day trip to the relatively modern city of Perpignon, (although still seeped in history) and an afternoon sight-seeing through the Banylus region - which was quaint as it was vast. Time has done nothing to ...
