Next up was a short ride on the metro to the area called Montmartre. Here we got a little lost trying to navigate the tiny and zig-zagging parisian streets. Eventually we made it to the top, and to the Sacred Heart Basilica, where we climbed some more (300 steps) to the top for a stunning view of the city. Also at the top of Montmartre was a band ...

... after us got turned away so it seemed to be a popular spot. We had the daily menu - main and dessert. The desserts (creme brle, profiteroles and chocolat chard) were very rich and we couldn't eat them all. Dad reckoned he couldn't remember that ever happening before.

We walked home through the local neighbourhood and bought our metro tickets to the airport on the way. It was about 9.30pm when we got home and had we had to be up early in the morning. ...
