    ... point in the city, is seen as the guardian of the city and is commonly called a bonne mere (the good mother).

    Once we got into town, we took the long route around the harbor, grabbed a couple drinks and headed to the Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilizations, referred to as "Mucem".

    We walked a ton and now I'm finishing my night with a glass of wine and a good meal. Sante! (cheers!)

    First day in La Ciotat where Karine and Olivier live, right not the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. Went to bed late, woke up a little late, and bummed around for part of the morning. Once afternoon struck we were off to Cassis to see what the coast had in store for us.

    ... lunch and returned the hotel. We relaxed around the pool until about 5:00 when we walked back downtown for a last bit of sight seeing and shopping. We had a wonderful dinner of Mussels and French Fries followed by specialty coffee and dessert. We returned to the hotel where the group met to cleanup any left over wine, etc. That is all for now, Cheeers ...

    ... now, we just wanted to get back to the ship. So we decided to walk to the train station because we had been told that busses ran frequently there. Now the real adventure began! We walked past a hospital, a navy base, through two tunnels, a mortuary, many closed business (it was Sunday). The road was narrow and windy. And of course, did not take us 10 minutes.
