... but at least it's clean and neat and they are obviously trying to make it a nice place to live and visit. We enjoyed it. The city square was a 'beach' during our stopover. The weather was not all that beachy but in the latter part of the afternoon it warmed up and hoards of kids enjoyed 'fishing', swimming and playing on the substantial amount of sand very cleverly placed. A great atmosphere. A good day, tomorrow we are back on the ...
... still had a 2 hr drive. We ended up having a picnic dinner in the Kangoo on the way and arrived in Mont-St-Eloi just before 8pm. Anyway when we got to the place it was awesome and it was a shame we were only there for one night. We just missed France vs *****ia but we found out the score was 2-0. We had to go to bed because it was getting quite late. Mum and dad had to do a big pack up of our gear as we are handing the car in tomorrow in Calais. By ...
... and then the office of tourism who were good and able to help. We had 30 minutes to get to a Tyler repair place or else we were stuck until Monday in Epernay, a lovely town but it had no available accommodation. The guy said we needed two new tyres because they had to be the same on each side and he didn't have any the same as the good one on the back. ...
... Get checked in and we have a nice little apartment hotel right next to the train station. Attendant was very helpful, and we then headed out for linner. Flatbread pizzas at Les 3 Brassures was just what we needed. We tried to ...

It was cooked medium and rare in parts, but I got over that because it was covered in mushroom gravy, which didn’t taste like mushroom. The small potatoes on the side were fantastic. Of course we had red and white wine with our meal. They were very nice wines. Geoff was the leader ...

When I booked this hotel, I expected standard fare so was delighted to find it more plush than expected and phenomenally friendly and helpful service from Esther at the front desk. From the moment we walked in, we felt genuinely welcome.
Our room was bigger and better than expected with an additional sitting room. The toilet (separate to the somewhat dated bathroom) was a bit of a squeeze but everything was clean and the beds were comfy.
Service the next day wasn't so great but Esther had been so great the day before, it made up for it.
The parking station directly across the road from the hotel was very handy if you're arriving by car. Overnight rates were very reasonable.
