      A nice sleep in today followed by a visit to the nearby Golden Angel Mill. Piet and Lisbeth took us in the car. Fantastic to see them change the sails to face the wind and see it working from the inside. A family BBQ at Piet and Ans tonight with Liesbeth and Maike and families.       ... where I met her dad, Jack, and her boyfriend, Tim. Everyone was really friendly and Jacquelien even made me dinner. I can't even remember the last time I had a home cooked meal, and it was excellent!

      I am pretty tired from last night's shena****ns, so Jacquelien has shown me to my own guest room where I know I won't be bothered by drunks coming in at all hours of the morning and night. I am so excited about sleeping here ...

For example, in one fishing village where drying fish was customary, fillets were drying on lines while fish were smoking in another.       ... together with about half the participants we went to the south of France for some altitude testing in the Alps Maritimes. However on surfaced roads we only reached up to 2700 mtrs, a far cry from 4500, but still the highest in Europe. The car was holding up very well.

      Ourselves we are fully prepared , our shots have been updated. How we will withstand the altitude in the Andes remains to be seen. But we are eager to explore this, for us, new ...
