Take what you have imagined the Grand Canyon to be, and then multiply it by around 5000. That's how huge it really is. We arrived at our hotel mid afternoon so did a quick deposit of our bags and drove to the canyon where we jumped on the shuttle bus. Although it's probably a highlight of most peoples tours, and absolutely it should be, it's one of those places that you only need to spend a short amount of time there. Well, it's official. We're going to Kenya!.

We bought our airline tickets and fly out on August 18 at 4pm. We arrive in Amsterdam early the next morning where we get to spend the next 14 hours on layover. I've never been to Amsterdam and we're going to get into the city while we wait, so that will be fun. Then on to Nairobi where we arrive the next morning. We then take another short flight to Kisumu where our base camp is.

... 3 month vacation is still on going after almost 7 years so while i was at the parents these last few weeks i decided to go through all of my stuff and bring back what i could to Thailand and discard most of the rest.

for the first time, i was worried about the weight allowances for checked baggage on an international flight and i found it a bit absurd that Cathay pacific only allows you to bring 50lbs. i mean the average tourist will pack more ...
