      3 Kings and Santa Barbara Castle

      Had a wonderful afternoon exploring Castillo de Sant Barbara (hugecastle/fort at the top of hill in Alicante) and listening to some of the 3 Reyes (3 Kings/Wisemen) festivities from the top of the castle. Tonight the 3 Kings (Wisemen) arrive! There were huge celebrations here in Spain. We could hear a marching band and see signs of a parade and huge crowds from the top of the castle. Later we saw on TV lots of celebrations all over Spain with kings and beautifully dressed women ...

      ... a trip to Paris, as well as painting, at least I have been painting, and of course lots of normal housekeeping activities that seem to fill our days.

There are six or seven individual on any given week that come to the English Speaking Club to enjoy the advice and tutelage of Peter, a lovely volunteer who steers us away from disasters toward a nice outcome.       Sailing down the coast of Spain en route to Tangiers. It is a beautiful day, the sun is shining and the Med is like a mill pond. We had breakfast and then off to play deck quoits and shuffleboard. George and partner Lorna won the quoits and I was in the other semi.       ... though, one thing we didn't really accounted for was that it's Friday today... when we arrive back home, there was a huge commotion - father starting up a big BBQ in the yard, kids running and screaming, their guests were there, their sons watching soccer game in incredibly high volume, their daughter's room (which is right next to ours) has some kids' TV show playing in high volume without the audience!
