Comenius Project
I travelled to Trebíc in May of 2010 to take part in a drama comenius project. As it was my first one, I was really excited. The comenius project started in the October of 2009 when Czech Republic students came to my secondary school so that we could meet the students we'd be working with when we went over there.
When we first travelled …
Let it snow let it snow let it snow...
Snowing hard and enjoying some very special white Czech wine.
Enjoyed some excellent schnapps last night at a local bar and have been hanging out with local DJs listening to awesome drum and bass vinyl mixing.
Been to too many bars and drank far too much of the local shot (some kind of 40% distilled rice wine - URGHH!!)
Wonderful company and walks around the lovely little city of Oloumouc.

Wedding & hangover
Andy and Jitkas wedding day on Saturday was truly lovely. The day started with a dash to pick up the bride in Martins decorated car, followed by the ceremony which took place in Czech with a translator for the English contingent. It was as an english ceremony is - the vows, exchange of rings and kissing with some confetti throwing to boot. There were a couple of Czech traditions. - the breaking of a plate with ...
Metz to Jihlava
today, like yesterday, was long! After some very bizarre dreams no doubt bought on by all the cheese I ate yesterday, we checked out of the worlds most expensive hotel and started the drive to Jihlava, Czech republic. The route took us through town, where we saw a shop called Fanny Boutique, but mostly along german autobahns, which are terrifying but fab. Stopped for some McDonald's breakfast/lunch and eventually arrived at our destination about 6pm - 2 hours ahead of ...

TravelPod Member ReviewsGrand Hotel Trebic
I absolutely loved staying at the Grand Hotel. It was not too crowded but had a lovely atmosphere. The food served was very nice and the rooms were also really neat and tidy. I only had a few things I would critique such as the being denied being able to rent out things like umberellas when it clearly stated in a leaflet in my room that I could do so. Other than that , I really enjoyed the stay and if I were to visit Trebíc again (Which I hope to do) i'd definately stay here!
