We climbed a long and slowly ascending trail up towards the centre of the intersection of the three ridges, but knew we were never about to ascend to the 3000 metres to climb over ( we'd been told the Paradore is located at approx 1300m with the upper mount scattered around as high as 3200m! ) Miss J came more alive ...

... it would be to go up. So we did. With no idea what was up top we took the 10 Euro ride up thinking we could grab a coffee from the hotel and enjoy the vista. The ride up was spectacular: beautiful rocky outcrops, mountain and valley views from every angle from our cute yellow cable car. Once on top we were in for more of a surprise, this place wasn't just a hotel, it was a village, a village by the name of Montserrat and home to the Monestir de Monsterrat (monastery) and all ...
