    ... t racing the day we went, it was more of just a show, with lots of different boats going up and down the river at various times, but it was still good to watch.

    ... travel across to Sichuan to see some national parks and climb some mountains (and see the pandas OFC), before making my way into Yunnan via the Sichuan-Tibetan Highway. I'll be spending a lot of time at altitude which isn't my favourite, but the scenery will be rewarding. In Yunnan I'll be spending time in some ethnic minority villages and seeing some more beautiful scenery, hopefully the rice terraces, Lugu Lake and Tiger Leaping Gorge. But let's see what I can fit in!

    ... at home – weddings, graduations, house repairs - and we send our best wishes to all of you involved with these events. A special shout-out to Tami who has just finished a grueling winter and spring of chemo. Still radiation to go, but the end is in sight. She has shown courage and determination during this unpleasant journey, reflecting the strong and positive women who we know and love.

    ... last Saturday when there was a break in the weather, but, on the way home, the skies opened again. Luckily we were able to deke into a coffee shop and had a delightful milk tea as we waited. We’ve had a couple of storms during the day and that has been interesting. Two of the big ceiling tiles in my room collapsed under the weight of the water leaking in, so there was water everywhere and yes, it was during class. Now I just have 3 buckets ...
