... We boarded a fast train back to Neuchâtel and then walked back down to the school for a photo on the big chair and to meet up with our billets.

Tomorrow is our last day in Switzerland and we'll spend it at the school in the morning with a more formal presentation, followed by exploring Neuchâtel itself in a fun way and then a combined dinner in the Jura Mountains with all the families later in the evening.

Should be a great last day in this beautiful country.

This morning was a public holiday in Neuchâtel and therefore many of the billets accompanied us Aussies to the Swiss Alps. We met downtown at 8am and headed off for the two hour journey to the mountains. On the way we got to have ...

... conversation, it became clear that Laurence and her 74 year-old mother had completed part of the Via Francigena themselves (as well as the Camino to Santiago from their home) and they were scheduled to complete the final VF stage from Fidenza to Rome later this month. This no doubt motivates them to provide assistance - waymarking, lodgings, etc - to pilgrims passing through their local section of the route. This motivation might also be strengthened by having had ...

... the history of chocolate in the world, a la Disneyland. Very impressive. After the history you go through the sampling room - I certainly didn't sample all of the chocolates, Tom put up a good effort but couldn't do it. Then we arrived at the factory shop. We bought a few things. I'll say no more.

After this our little bus took us to a little cheese factory where we had a platter of locally made ham, sausage and various ...
