... playing with lit cigarette in hand and the 'drummer' was playing a wooden box with his foot jammed into tambourine. Despite the unusual equipment and style the band was very talented. Something which is not lacking in this country. After copious amounts of vodka and orange juices, a lychee cocktail (extremely sweet but beautifully made) and a few watermelon juices to water down the booze we stumbled into bed around one am. ... awkward). Mosque itself is massive. Biggest in Asia apparently, and has a couple of big domes, a spire, and a courtyard. Inside the big dome is about 7 floors, but only the first tier is open. Many people are devoutly praying, a few are eating, some are sleeping, and are a few are just chatting to each other. Dude in the middle is singing from the Qu'ran (or Koran, however you want to spell it) and there's a library of loan books for people that want to read along. ...
