It was blowing a gale again this morning so we decided to start the day with a visit to the new Acropolis museum. Walking up the hill we noticed that there were very few people up at the Acropolis site. I guess they were all sleeping in after having partied Saturday night. We got to the museum and waded our way through the tour groups to peruse the many marble statues and friezes that were on display. Pronounced Hania. A city on the sea. Inhabited for 10,000 years (Neolithic era, not to be confused with the mosaic era that took place at my mom and dad's house when they tiled a bathroom with garage sale remnants he'd purchased over the years). A walled city turned into a major hangout for artists, students and foreign tourists. A port town that's got a good European feel. Lots of shops, eateries and cafés. Our suite or 'sweet' apparently turns our to ...
... it somehow to your mouth. Only the uncle speaks limited English and we feel like we are aliens from another planet. There are feral cats wandering around, a cute dog, and homegrown produce everywhere. The single aunt, with hands like bear paws, shows us her kitchen that is carved from part of the mountain with one light bulb. Now we aren’t sure if we should be worried, scared, impressed or delighted that we have seen a part ...
