... cold for me to go swimming. We spend our days catching a bus to different parts of the coast and just wondering around there. We went to the oldest botanical gardens in the Southern Hemisphere. I celebrated my birthday here. We went to a very nice Italian restaurant. For entire we had a plater of salamis, cheeses, and sun dried tomatoes and olives. This was followed by pizza. ... numerous students who thought the time ashore affordrd them the chance to get spectacularly drunk before noon. Semester at Sea already has a bad reputation on the island due to unruly, intoxicated students (in fact we have been banned from spending the night there) and unfortunately a handful of students continued the tradition of treating Mauritius as a spring break. It's a shame because it really is an island paradise that they won't remember.
