... cold for me to go swimming. We spend our days catching a bus to different parts of the coast and just wondering around there. We went to the oldest botanical gardens in the Southern Hemisphere. I celebrated my birthday here. We went to a very nice Italian restaurant. For entire we had a plater of salamis, cheeses, and sun dried tomatoes and olives. This was followed by pizza. ... it would be. It was probably the most beautiful island I have ever seen and although I didn't get a lot of surfing in I did get some great waves. I only got two waves at Tamarin, but they were both really amazing and I consider myself lucky to say I got to surf the place. It is a very fickle wave that doesn't break that often, and even when it does the locals make it hard to get waves.
I am in the airport now and am leaving for Madagascar. ...

I slept very well last night and slept in until 7:00. After breakfast I caught up on some office work and then drove down into Port Louis, the capital to see if I could get some pages sewn in my passport. I parked at the Caudan waterfront parking lot by the main port of Mauritius. This area which used to be military in nature has been nicely redone as a hotel complex and luxury shopping area with museums and a casino.
