... and it was one of those car washes that charges $6.00 for a basic wash. You pay at a machine and choose the level of wash you want. I got the basic which means you drive through the car wash machine after the guys at the beginning do some pre-wash with a pressure sprayer and a brush. They have you put the car in neutral and let the machine pull you through the various wash areas. When you are done, you pull out and either drive off, or in ...

... the bar inside, and outside on the patio.

There was a nice cool breeze blowing in and it was a great place to sit. There is a small harbor just below the restaurant and we saw a variety of watercraft at the small dock and in the water. Across the street there is a restroom with showers and a couple of vending machines. ...

April 18: Day 13 Savannah, GA

A day in Savannah today. This time we bicycled around all of the old town squares, and over to the riverside. There were more 18th and 19th C houses than you could shake a stick at! The riverfront area was quite interesting, with the 18th Cotton exchange building, and riverfront stone buildings and cobbled roads. Just about everywhere one goes there are allusions to the history of Savannah vis a vis the Revolutionary War ...

... Our next stop was the Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum. We LOVED IT. This was Peggy's favorite thing to do on this trip. The exhibits were Swim by Charles Williams (huge paintings of his experience of almost drowning); My Inner Garden by Laurie Blum (her inspiration were trips to the Garden of Paradise in Shiraz, Iran); Voices of the Island, a Cuban Art Collection of Reynier Llanes who had ...
