... put his GoPro on the roof so it took a picture every 2 seconds....the results are attached as a time lapse. Once we got to the top, we stopped off for a bit and walked around, however we were over 12,000 feet and their was sleet so it was pretty cold!! I think when we looked it was about 44 F which I believe is around 6/7 C. Brrrrr

The whole drive was just so awesome and beautiful ...

The next few hours we spent walking around everywhere and just enjoying the beautiful colours...we struggled to get good pictures as there were always cables or something man made in the way so we started to drive back up the road towards piney lake (we did this drive last time and camped out). ... that was not really the initial plan which was a stroll along the US/Canadian US 2 plus a drop to the pacific coast after seeing the glacier Nationals parks but...

I have no regret as it has been a long time that I have not spent time with Theo and our duo/trio has been working like an old engine, a little bit of cracky sounds when the exhaustion was coming upon us but otherwise same energy and tolerance ...

Aspen reminded me a bit of Banff, cute little ski/snowboard town with lots of hikes in the summer.

Unfortunately, I did not realize how high up Aspen is (2400m above sea level) and once we started our hike at Maroon Bells, I felt quite dizzy and tired. Turns out I must have had some sort of altitude sickness at 3000m above sea level... That happened on our hike in Santa Fe as well.. well, now I know :)

I recovered quickly and finished the hike at least...

Wednesday, August 5 We've done some sightseeing this week when we weren't laying around at the campground. We rode to Crested Butte one day and Buena Vista a couple of times--they have a Walmart! Today, our motorcycle ride took us on a 15 mile butt-jarring ride to a small fishing lake higher up the mountains. It was a bumpy ride, but beautiful. We rode beside a rushing stream ...
