... downtown for dinner at the Red Onion. The Red Onion is another classic Aspen location. It is more of a bar in the front, but they have a dining room area in the back. I got a margarita and the pork schnitzel with lemon caper sauce for the main course. You get to choose one side with your meal and I opted for the Red Onion Salad. I loved the everything I ordered. ... to Aspen. We flew from Vegas to Denver and then caught the Colorado Mountain express to Aspen. We left at 5am in the morning and arrived in Aspen at 6:30pm after we had to change buses because ours was having engine trouble. We are definitely not having much luck on the bus side of things this trip.

... back in the 90's. He had been a regular competitor in the Winter X Games as an aerialist and subsequently been host of these games for the last 13 years. Definitely a pioneer in the extreme winter sports. Nowadays he is a little more grown up and is an ambassador for Obermeyer and also in demand as a commentator for these events. Incredibly knowledgeable and entertaining, he certainly added to the overall enjoyment for us.

Back to do it all again! Men's Super G on the difficult Birds of Prey Course at Beaver Creek.

Super G is like downhill but with a few more gates that the skier has to pass through. Unlike downhill though they do not get any training runs on the actual course only a course inspection an hour or so before the start time. This adds to the challenge for the skier and excitement for the spectators as sometimes it all goes horribly ...
