Primera noche en Tokyo (in Spanish)

... Chupa-Chups, Haagen Dazs y Nivea.

Akihabara, a dog`s paradise!

... videos as discreetly as possible, but we were apparently spotted rather early on, as I wasn`t as sly as I thought I was. It was incredibly loud and there was a lot of activity going on. Sean and I have hypothesized that this was the reason that the employees couldn`t catch up to us quickly enough. They were just so disoriented and their senses so overloaded that they had gone partially blind and were actually just wandering in the ...

Beer and Rayfin

... it for the best raw fish in the world. We then met our first couchsurfer host Doug, who treated us to lunch, dinner and some home brewed beer. We went to a local bar in Shibuya, which is right near that famous crossing with all the people (its in "Lost in Translation"). Doug convinced us to try some local delicacies, so we sampled ray-fin, cheesy tuna sponge things, and a japanese omelette. On our way home, we passed an ...

Halloween: Korean style

... upbeat, korean techno song in which the singer yells in some parts. They all knew the songs very well and hit everynote right on. When it was my turn they wanted me to sing "Listen" by Beyonce, and "Hit me baby one more time" by you-know-who. HAHA They really wanted to hear songs in English and practically begged me so I felt I couldn't say no. All apart of the experience, and heck, it was Halloween after all! I guess I was a Korean for Halloween.

My life is a manga - and I played TEKKEN 6

... scene, just in case anyone cares, but no one does so I shut up. And yes, I got lost in Shinjuku, hahah! for years I wanted to do this. It's like a grown up geek's paradise: neons, arcade rooms, casinos, crazy shops everywhere, and also ****** hostess bars and all that but anyway I went during the day so no worries. After 3 days in Tokyo, here are a few statistics. Money lost playing THE NEW TEKKEN 6 -haha!! gnark gnark- which does not exist in ...

AKIHABARA: SERVICE, SCI FI and SAMURAI

Leaving the subway at Akihabara, one is ASSAULTED by NOISE, SIGHTS, and MAIDS handing out leaflets. The short skirted, knee hi's or boots look is everywhere: On the girls handing out tissues and wipes with leaflets, to the young women taking them on their shopping spree. Despite the fact that these women are dressed in outlandish outfits, they are loathe to be photographed, managing to avoid my camera lens expertly. We are ...

... afore-mentioned Jaccuzzi(im switching between spellings as im really not sure). Tuesday - Went to a place they call "Electric Town", cant say we were overly impressed..just seemed like a run down version of the other parts of the city, with slightly more electrical goods(all priced exactly the same in every shop, which we discovered after the first 3 or 4) . Spent about 20 minutes there then moved weight to a place called Ueno. We thought this place was gonna be a kind ...

Tour de Tokyo

... cans of coffee? Yup, for only 120yen (about $1.20) you can choose from an endless variety of coffees that come tumbling out, hot, in a can. I had to try this, and it is actually quite good. Now I don't even need to go into a coffee shop to get my takeaway coffee. Tokyo is a massive city, with between 15 and 25 million people, depending on which count you believe. Either way, that's a lot of people and with a lot ...

Sushi, vending machines and hot summer nights...

... must have been when you saw the head. We had a great time dodging the carts and people throwing water around the place, the place was a buzz of activity even at the "late" time of 8am..! What better way to start the day than with a plater of sushi, and if u wanted it fresh this would have to be the best place... So Nicole sat down to a sushi feast, easily fit for 2....and enjoyed it all. One recommendation though is to stay away from sea urchin! That afternoon it was off ...

SFA OK

... of all of the newest toys. I got lost in my own world and left after about 4 hours. Right near the hostel, I found an area of bookstores, where you can find really old books and authentic woodblock prints. There is something for everyone in this city, and if you need to escape, its not far to the mountains. I plan on heading back to Korea a few days sooner than my ticket, so hopefully next entry, I can add photos of my experience here. Stay tuned.
