    Road trippin'

Spent all of today on the road after being picked up from our hotel at 8 and arriving at our destination 12 hours later. We did meet some cool people who were 2 girls from Italy (Ottavia & Ludo) and a Swedish/Russian couple who had just spent a month in a Buddhist camp in Kathmandu (Ken & Maria).

We thought heading out of the towns we would see beatiful green landscape but it just seemed to be roadside shops and shacks most of the way.

Woke up at 7am for a delicious breakfast put on by Helly which consisted of toast and yummy sweet pastries, just the ticket for our hike on the Dieng plateau. We had decided to book the services of local guide Argus ($15nzd) to show us around and at 8am we all jumped aboard a local bus for the 1 hour journey to Dieng.

The bus ride was quite an adventure itself making numerous stops along the way at markets to pick up folk and ...

    The long ride to Bromo

A travel blog entry by globalwanderers on Dec 18, 2013

... br> sunrise tour of Bromo but set off on foot by ourselves. I thought Bromo was quite impressive but Huw was disappointed having done it 20 years earlier. It could have been the crowds that now changed his mind. A few snaps and then back to bed for a few hours only to discover the whole area
covered in cloud when we awoke! A G &T on the crater rim at sunset and to bed early ready for sunrise the next morning at 4:30am. The ...

On the way: 11 hours later

Geez it's been 11hours jammed in the car. What a long ride. We are now half way through to our destination, Probolinggo, and now we are in Pekalongan. It is 8am in the morning, and i am really tired. We are at the restaurant for our breakfast. After a little refreshment, maybe my day will start to be on thebright side. I just can't resist to think that I will have another 10 hour. Oh ...
