Rain, Curry, Rain...More Curry...More Rain

7.5 hours later we are in Malacca. We both manage to sleep the majority of the journey and wake up in wet Malacca. The rain is pouring but the temperature is still in the mid twenties even though its 07:30. It's difficult to navigate here as there are no signs that direct us how to get to the city centre from the bus station and the information desk is unmanned. We ask at a ticket sales counter and they point us to a platform to get the number 17 bus. We pay ...

... of me. I was wide awake at 2 AM this morning and I just had to get up to see if we were really underway since I detected nothing to indicate we were. Now steaming at 14 knots through
the Malacca Strait.

The boarding process went quite smoothly yesterday, I was however amazed at how many times we had to show our passports during the process. One small bump appeared just as we were about to ...

A travel blog entry by jason.machaela on Mar 16, 2012

The singapore marina is beautiful. The merlion (half mermaid, half lion) and marina bay hotel are particular highlights. ...

We left Thailand on Thursday January 5th. The sting in this tale was the 1000 baht fine for overstaying our welcome by one day. My fault entirely, can't add up, but 10 each makes a dent in shoe stringer budgets. I suppose we could have been in worse trouble, you can bet I will be more careful in future.
We arrived in Kuala Lumpur known as KL in the middle of the night. We flew with Air Asia and while not an all ...

Arrived in Penang

... The next day we got a really nice public bus to Kuala Lumpur and checked into our hotel. That evening we got the train to the KLCC, which is where all the major buildings and shopping centres are. We had dinner inside one of the malls and then went outside to see the Petronas Towers at night time, which are truly beautiful! They are most stunning at night time. On the way home, after getting off the train, there was a ginormous ...
