... short, I walked around for a few hours, failing miserably to communicate this to anyone who looked remotely like a travel agent (most were airline ticketing and little else) If they were open at all and had all but given up on it and decided to go for dinner at one of the recommended Places in the lonely planet.

Arrived back in Samarinda to find no taxi as Aidil Fitri. Mad dash to get bag left at hotel and back to bus station to catch flight leaving in 4 hours with 2 hour trip. Lucky one taxi was at bus station but wanted double fare. Refuse first then he dropped price and we left. Mad driving to get us to airport fast. Made it

Today Wahab took us around and we got to see Tarakan and we met loads of people who took our picture. We first went to the mangroves to see the Proboscis monkeys – it was amazing they had a little feast and enjoyed their bananas. We really loved it there.
