... Vintgar Gorge National Park for a quick hike. We've been fortunate to visit a a lot of pretty places and this one held up. A very tight river gorge with beautiful foliage and fantastic light. Well worth the stop and a great beginning to Bled.

Once we arrived in Bled, we discovered our campground was directly on the west end of Lake Bled which is a 2.5km (1.5 mile) diameter lake. The beach ...

We took off from Salzburg and started our trek back to nature by passing through a very steep mountain pass replete with lots of long tunnels. Before heading into Lake Bled, we decided to take a stop off at Vintgar Gorge (about 2.5 miles north of Bled) and take Rick Steve's recommended hike (can you tell we really rely on this guy?!).

... salamanders, Waitomo has glow worms therefore both equally famous in their own right! Next stop was Lake Bled via the A1 and a lot of traffic going very fast! My nerves took a battering but we got there safely to what is possibly the most beautiful place in Europe. It was well worth the terror and time in the car, we just wish we had longer. The pictures say it all. Back to Zagreb to catch our flight to Dubrovnik and our much needed rest and cruise around the Croatian ...

... were the unfathomable amount of clock towers, basically if you think clock towers are cool you should visit slovenia, pretty much every building had one. And the intellectual *****s, which are women who you pay to spend time with you, in a gondola (on the ground) and they will wow you with their vast knowledge of any subject you wish to talk about, we didn't give it a try... It cost 30 euros an hour. We did however talk to everybody we met ...
