Yow, our guide, and our driver picked us up at 7:45. This car is a 2015 Toyota Forerunner, leather, sunroof, GPS, etc. This older driver was great, always had cold water for us, very friendly but no English. (We always had the same combination of driver and guide in each city we visited.)

So today was a relaxed morning, a nice Sunday sleep
in, a yummy breakfast as it was the first time mango

So great to have a wonderful friend like Mari who is happy to pop round at 7.30 am to pick us up and drop us at Manly wharf to start our journey. A very easy trip to the airport catching the Manly ferry and enjoying the fresh air and then the train to the airport, arriving in less than an hour. We thought we would be nice and early for check in but …

Well, wasn't this a lovely Sunday at home (HCMC). I had a chance to wake up when I felt like it, did my Insanity exercise dvd (I think I’m getting better already with the pushups at least) and then Ellen took me out t0 this frenchy styled restaurant for sa brunch time meal. I admit that it wasn’t my favorite because I wasn’t really looking for western food, particularly not of the breakfast sort (it was a breakfast/lunch only type place) ...

... about Vietnam. For those of you who were never into history in school, or have always thought it to be a dry subject, feel free to skip this part, even though you will never feel the exhilaration of a moment like this, where you get to play the educator and sound like a great sweater vest wearing professor, bespectacled and all. These next two paragraphs are just a taste of Vietnamese history. I will explain to you the bits and pieces of history that I find most interesting. In no way ...
