We saw the painting of David and Goliath, the Venus de Milo Sculpture and of course we fought through the crowd to take a couple pictures with the Mona Lisa. He didn't want to do an encore but obliged by playing the Marseillaise so we all had to stand up! The old bishops house has been privately restored and we managed a sneaky look in to the courtyard. ... and I didn't see any locals so they must take their siesta seriously. This town is so unspoilt that you feel like you are on a movie set and is definitely a major highlight of the trip despite what Gunther thinks. We didn't see one car in the old town nor any evidence of where one would park, no bikes or obvious garbage bins, no advertising signage. Viviers became the seat if the bishopric in the 5th century and the Cathedral of Saint Vincent ...

... The chateau has an indoor heated pool and an outside pool that is also heated. Being red-blooded Aussies we had to throw the togs on and go for a dip. It was beautiful and as no-one knows us we didn't mind flashing our ample whale like white bodies! Obviously our natural charm was on display because an Irish colleen picked us as Aussies. We are dining in ...
