We started with a walking tour of Viviers, a village of about 5000 people. Narrow streets, old buildings, the church dating back to the 14(?) century. The walk spiralled up to the cathedral, which is the smallest one in France. Here, we were treated to an organ recital in the cathedral-what beautiful acoustics!
in the afternoon, we had a quick French cooking class - crepe ...

Houses are built into the city walls and it would have been a difficult place to attack. We walked the streets which led ever upwards listening to stories of the town. At one place there was a huge wooden fireplace surround leaning up against a wall. Our guide commented that it hadn't been there that morning and it ...

... the locks is pulling off whole sections of the bridge, we decided to forgo the tradition.

After dinner we took a long walk to the Eiffel Tower, the main attraction for Lachlan on this trip. We walked along the Seine, past Les Invalides and to the tower. By the time we got there, the lights were going on, and we were able to see the Tour Eiffel all lit up. It was a truly beautiful evening and a lovely welcome to Paris.
