... Gorges du Tarn were often smooth, wide (for a change) and few campervans. At Rimeize our accommodation is on a working farm, including hissing geese. Yes we have a big double room & a big bathroom and a perfectly comfortable dining area, but the town is 4kms away. A delightful change to the town-based hotels and apartments we've had so ...

... arrived here just before 3 pm, including a coffee/hot chocolate stop, and a lunch stop. It was not the sort of path where you walked fast, as before the descent there was a lot of gradual uphill, still in the open countryside and still amongst the cows (and lots of calves). Well, when we arrived it was 3/4 full, and soon every table was occupied! Half looked like ...

... a fleece most of the day! Much colder than Spain was at the same time. It is so good to feel in the groove of walking! We have another long day tomorrow and then several shorter ones, but don't have a rest day till we get to Conques which is in another 6 days I think. We are in heaven! We have now moved out of the Auvergne and are in Languedoc-Roussillon - these are the areas - and have moved from the ...

A magical day - hard walking!

... a very charming and almost bustling small town. Was rushing while writing in the Office de Tourisme as they were about to close, but now at the bar where we are having a beer, there is excellent wifi, so will add a bit more detail. It was such a beautiful day. Cool - 10° - when we set out from our little town perched on the side of a hill, but we soon heated up with the energetic walking. The first two-thirds ...
