    ... signage at station and no directions on hotel web site. Hotel 4 Viale Masini modern and comfy for 64e. Room faced Main Street to west and was 28deg when I arrived. Reception said law made them turn off aircon on 15 Oct!! Fortunately could open window a bit. Lunch at tabac/bar next door- cheese salad with good bread.     ... this morning it was obvious it was a toilet leak as there was water seeping around the tiles and a pool of water had started at the base of the toilet. Before the cooking class I ducked into the Salaborsa to check out the roman ruins. There was an interesting timeline on the wall leading to the ruins section - unfortunately there wasn't an English translation. Just after I enter my room and close my door, the lady in the 212B comes out and asks what is going on - I can't believe it - she has been in her room the whole time while they have been knocking, calling her room, drilling, banging etc and when it is all finished she appears. Which reminds me, we saw quite a few plaques around the city commemorating the people killed by bombs over the years, including a huge blast in 1980 in the waiting room of the railway station.     ... and was life sized. On the bus, the back of each seat had a seat belt sign - but there were no seat belts on the bus. After the bus tour I wandered the narrow lane ways for a while and then stopped at a place for some late lunch -I had the traditional tagliatelle el ragu which I will probably learn to cook on Thursday.
