Shower over bath. Good hot water and pressure.

Too hot! Central heating set at 24.c couldn't adjust Sweaty Wetty.

A satisfactory (but not a great) experience.

Things began badly: our room wasn't ready at the time we were told it would be, and it wasn't the two-bedded room I had reserved a long time in advance. It was, however, clean, quiet and comfortable with an attractive bathroom. During the first half of our stay the hotel was very full and the hard-working staff struggled to cope with serving (the satisfactory) breakfast at peak times. The hotel was within walking distance of all major attractions, and it was also convenient for trains/coaches to Pisa airport. The restaurant was only OK, but all the staff in the hotel were pleasant and helpful.

          Ho hum...

We spent two nights here on a CIT tour that had 4 star accommodation. We had a huge room that was really nice but another couple on our tour said there room was a tiny box? We thought the breakfast was really good... even though Italian's really don't know how to make decent latte! Through Italy, good luck getting real cafe style coffee! We struggled and are now over dosing now we are back in Australia! The staff were like most others we found around Italy, not very friendly but I think it's just the way it is there?

The hotel has a cheap internet service in the lobby which was great for checking emails quickly.

My family stayed here in July 2004. The hotel is quite average for a 4 star hotel. Throughout our holiday in Europe we mainly stayed at 3-star hotels with this being the only 4 star hotel. The only things that differentiate it from 3 star are the size of the rooms and the full breakfast. Otherwise, the decor is pretty average and the hotel facilities are also pretty standard. The staff were helpful and the hotel is within walking distance from the train station. Overall our stay was pleasant but I would definitely not rate it as a 4 star place.

Tour Group Hotel not 4 Star

This hotel is far from the City center and is average. The A/C doesn't work very well (or the hotel keeps control of it) and the rooms are average. Your room key must be inserted into a special slot in the room to allow you to turn on the lights and A/C. This system is terrible and I wouldn't have expected to find this in a 4-star hotel - very annoying!! There are better hotels to stay at in Florence. This hotel seems to be used by group tours and also had over 50 students from Berkley staying in the hotel for 50 days. Breakfast was good and had a nice courtyard.

This is not a four star hotel

What a disappointment this hotel is, definitely not four star. The neighborhood is very out of the way from all destinations, and isn't very pretty or distinctive. The hotel decor is drab and dated, it really needs a facelift. Our first room could have been in an old Holiday Inn in Florida, there was nothing European or Italian about it at all. After one night on a terrible mattress, I asked the very indifferent and uncaring desk staff if we could have another room. After looking at three other rooms identical to the one I was already in, I was finally shown a very pretty refurbished room with good mattresses. The only nice thing I can say about the hotel is that there is a nice patio where you can have your breakfast each morning. I would never go back to this hotel, there are so many others in Florence in better locations.

          Comfortable stay

My family just returned from 10 days in Italy, 3 nights of which were in Florence at the BW Grand Hotel Adriatico. The rooms was clean, quiet, and had all needed amenities. Breakfast room is bright and spacious and a full American breakfast is served. A 5 Euro charge allows guests to use hotel computer Internet for 1 hour. We would stay here again. Good restaurant , MASO, across the street . Not far from train station, but not direct, a taxi is the best way to transport luggage.

Good - some improvements would be nice

My husband and I stayed 4 nights at this hotel last week. The fact that the hotel is very close to the train station is helpful when you are carrying your luggage. We didn't mind the fact that the hotel was not in the middle of the tourist sights since it was only a 10-15 minute walk to the city center. Our bathroom looked like it was renovated recently, and I loved taking baths after hours of walking around.

However, the room needed to be renovated. The room was a little cold although we kept raising the setting on the thermostat. And whenever the heat was on, it was noisy. The interior of the room and the hotel in general looks like it's a little run down, but everything was clean.

People at the front desk weren't very friendly but answered all our questions, so I was ok with that. Overall, the hotel was decent for what we paid.

          A Lovely Stay

My partner & I stayed here for 5 nights at the end of September 2003, and were very impressed.

Firstly, as Florence is a city not best suited to the motor car, it is useful if your hotel is close by the train station, especially when carting luggage. The Adriatico scores well here as you can walk it in under five minutes easily. Their web site gives you the directions.

Almost all major attractions can be reached in 10 minutes or so from the hotel.

The entrace (from a small square) is impressive, a highly polished marble and glass affair that leads you to the reception. The staff here all spoke English, and even tollerated my attempts at Italian.

The rooms were very clean, and nicely furnished, though our view was the car park at the rear.

The breakfast room was very nice, cool white decor. The food was very good, and they even managed hot coffee on Sunday when the whole of Italy had a power-cut!

The hotels restaurant is also very good. They do a set 3 course meal for 23 Euro, though you get 10% off if you are a guest. I normally find hotel restaurants a rip-off, but this was a pleasant change.

We intend to visit Florence again, and would certainly stay here again.

... there to Oslo. I arrived in Oslo dead tired around midnight, not too excited about having to start work early tomorrow, but the trip was absolutely worth it! Florence is definitely the most beautiful city I've ever been to. I fell completely in love with it. The city itself is gorgeous with very nice and narrow streets, few cars, excellent shopping, delicious food and wine, and really friendly and helpful people. It was so nice I could have moved ...
