Not looking forward to the flights, we head off to BHX at 8.15. Check in, through security and into the No 1 lounge to wait. A glass of champers, a bacon butty and a couple of glasses of wine and we are on the plane. Stop offs at Dubai (2 hours), Bangkok (7hours) and Sydney (2 hours) we get to Christchurch 9 minutes late! Yes, Nate went skiing in Dubai! I think he has been talking about this for as long as I have known him. And he finally went!

We spent the morning doing laundry in the sink, and Nate worked ******* finding us a place in the Maldives, where we go tomorrow. As a reward, we treated ourselves to both a waterpark (for Bryn) and SkiDubai (for Nate).

We also explored to former Sheik's compound.

After a heat and jetlag break we taxied into the new part of town to see the world's tallest building and freestanding structure: Burj Khalifa, it is stunning when you compare it to the new highest.
