We had contacted Amedeo and Maria advising them of our plan but they told us that Maria was at the hospital with the grandmother of her son Roberto's girlfriend. Apparently the 75 year old was very unwell and because the daughter was working and the grand daughter was sitting for exams Maria went and stayed with her at the hospital. If ...

    ... culinary delight. Lunch is had in a little piazza where we feast on local swordfish, tomato and red onion salad washed down with beer of course as its too hot to have wine. After lunch we go back to the hotel and have a bit of a rest before heading to the beach where we have promised Filippo that we would return.     ... into the cool fresh water and swim and swim and swim where the water dampens and puts out the fires within all of us! 5 o'clock rolls around and its mojito time. We have 2 each and all is well! Haha

    ... the strait that separates Italy from Sicily, the Strait of Messina and that was very picturesque. Lots to see on both sides through the binoculars. Had an Asian style buffet lunch, coffee and dessert downstairs, a nana nap and more swimming. The girls, Lance and Michelle went for a workout at the gym.
