... I discovered was belissimo and just what I needed before I entered the 6 story commercial world of lights and noise and people in a hurr. Truly, I couldn't stay in this shopping mall but for maybe 30 minutes and then I absolutely had to escape - too much, too much. Back to wandering neighborhoods, parks and a lovely walk along the Danube. I love people watching, don't you? This city gives you many opportunities in all ...

... I thought I was going to have to sleep on ‘the beach’!

My mood lifted after a shower and a walk around town – it was actually a really nice place. I stayed in Pecs for the morning to see one of the museums that had been closed on Monday. Specifically, I went to the Cella Septichora Visitor Center to see a set of World Heritage-listed early Christian tombs. The Visitor Center was underneath the St. Peter and Paul Basilica, and it consisted of a series of walkways around and above a handful of burial vaults from the 3rd and 4th centuries, created by the Roman inhabitants of the area. ...

    ... the show takes place!

At least there was an information stand by the restaurant with a very helpful girl telling us that there would be another show at 3 pm today. We decided to build up our tent and camp for the night here. Unfortunately our somewhat optimistic plan of organising a horse trek for one or two days through the puszta with a bored local cowboy guide (as it was still low season) didn't quite work out. As none of ...
