Santander to Plymouth Ferry

A travel blog entry by mersonjames on Jul 01, 2015

... had not let us down a couple of times where new roads have been built. We check in for the ferry and leave the car to have a walk around. One last chance to practice in a little café/bar where we manage to get by totally in Spanish. We have to wait till almost the last to board the ferry. Hopefully it will be last on first off. We leave Santander at 21.15 local ...

And today is Isabelle's birthday which has been awesome. Last night from 12-2 we went to the beach to eat some pie and celebrate her birthday. This afternoon we went to the lighthouse. Isabelle really wanted to go and I'm so happy I went with her, ...

Santander was a convenient place to stop but primarily a beach area for summer. The skies remained overcast and slight drizzle most of the time but no swell or surf in sight. It is also a port for ferries from the UK. There was a group ...

Day 10

A travel blog entry by eliseauguste on Jun 10, 2015

Today in culture class we discussed stereotypical women and women's rights in Spain. Yesterday I asked the teacher to not be so stereotypical about men and women anymore. She would only ask the guys about football and assumed that the guys would not like a love song. The teacher, Elda explained me that this is the way she grew up and her culture. She explained that Spain is very male ruled and males are seen as better ...
