Anyway, to cut a really long story short, they got it fixed, Ian brought us down some hot chips, the bags got packed in again and we gave Segovia a miss and headed for Zamora where we'd booked our first night. Got to the hotel about 6pm and they said they didn't have a booking. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise as it appeared a bit of a seedy area and Noels said it was a dump inside. . No wonder my clothes are no longer fitting me. The next morning we took the opportunity to view the beautiful San Lorenzo beach that wraps around the city. It has a lovely promenade accented by colourful gardens. Very pretty. After a late start, we left for ...

... drawings and instead majored on the state of their hearts...and feet. Met my first proper pilgrims walking my way and staying at my albergue. In their mid 60's. I was feeling good as I was slightly faster than them until I discovered that they'd started in Belgium. It's probably unpilgrim like but bloody hell! Got to a really lovely albergue. Part of an old monastery which is being renovated. It was like turning up to the apocryphal Spanish unbuilt hotel ...
