Yesterday's adventure was divided into two parts. First, we went to Ávila, a city about an hour from Segovia known for its medieval walls and its hometown heroine, Saint Teresa. 2015 marks the 500th anniversary of Saint Teresa's birth. ... we walked up to the enchanting town square, where we spent half an hour wandering through its streets and trying local delicacies in its shaded plazas. ... the border to Spain with no fanfare, border control or quarantine. The only way we knew we had entered was a rather half-hearted sign announcing Espania - the Schengen Agreement operating seamlessly.

A highlight for Steve on his morning wander for bread for breakfast. He saw a dog carrying a lady's baguette home in its mouth AND it stopped for a pee on a wall en route (baguette still in mouth). Wadestown dog owners - lets hope you don't get any ideas!!! Although Stella could probably carry a Grande Baguette.
