... communicating my room problems with them. I would recommend getting rosetta stone a few months ahead and at least learning the basics of german or italian, because not being able to communicate is brutal. Also, buy a surge protecter before you come! I haven't been able to find one here, although maybe that's just the language barrier again.

There was an orientation the day I arrived. This was very useful, not just for info but because it is a good opportunity to ...
Bolzano, Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy bronwhyn... Innsbruck. At least this time I was not awoken from sleep and asked where my passport was. Ha ha ha!

The Innsbruck, Austria area has some of the most beautiful scenery around. Lush rolling hills, quaint old villages and some huge crazy modern bridges. I think it would be great to rent a car and travel around this area. Yet another trip to plan! If I win that SuperEnalotto…… I guess I can do pretty much anything I want!
Bolzano, Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy monkeytoes... returning to Cortina, Cindy slept off an upset stomach while the kids relaxed and I did a 10-mile run exploring south of Cortina. We all went on a stroll (hike is a bad word now) afterwards to enjoy the first extended period of sunshine since we arrived in Europe a week ago.
Cortina D'Ampezzo, Veneto, Italy brian796... were gone, Cindy and Alycia walked around town some and went to a market next to the hotel. They grabbed pizza at a new restaurant, which all of us returned to that night for a nice dinner. Trey and I ate several meals apiece in a single sitting to make up for the energy expended during the day. We have a newfound appreciation for the bikers competing daily in the Tour de France this month.
Cortina D'Ampezzo, Veneto, Italy brian796Today was an easy day. Trey was still suffering from altitude sickness and stayed in the hotel for most of the day.

Cindy, Alycia, and I went up into the Confini del Parco Naturale delle Dolomiti d'Ampezzo nature preserve north of town and hiked the Number 10 trail to go see the Cascata de Fanes waterfalls. The hike was very nice, including wide paved trails, crushed gravel trails, bridges and lots of elevation changes. It allowed ...
Cortina D'Ampezzo, Veneto, Italy brian796... much to the annoyance of the Austrians who could not shake them off despite constantly dumping bombs on them. The Italians in turn dug a tunnel upwards over 1000m until they were able to deposit a mine right underneath the Austrian positions and literally blow the top off the mountain. Of course the Austrians had heard the 3 months of digging underfoot and had dug down themselves in vain to try to blow up the Italian tunnel! They had also moved back a bit so ...
Cortina D'Ampezzo, Veneto, Italy wenzels... a hitch to Panzani on the sideline, but the Bergamo corner stepped in front and intercepted the ball. I came over and made the tackle and punched the ball out in the process but Bergamo was able to recover the fumble.

At that point I was in at corner opposite Ciba. Our defense dug in, battled and on third and six Reed drilled Bergamo’s QB to force a field goal attempt. I came off the edge and deflected the kick, which was then blocked by the ...
Bolzano, Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy mavsqb1... the future holds.

I like the film because Denzel knows what he wants really, to play music to pursue his passion and as he says in the movie everything else is secondary. He is content to just be. But women aren’t satisfied merely ‘being,’ they have to know where the relationship is going and what the future holds. From there the movie takes several twists and I don’t like the ending as much as I really like the first 4/ths of the movie.

Bolzano, Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy mavsqb1... it was raining. So we hiked for about 3 more hours in the rain. It was worth it though. The mountains were beautiful. They were a lot different than the Swiss alps that are snow covered and higher. The Italian alps were more wooded and rocky. We hiked to another spot with lots of little waterfalls it was beautiful. We made it to a clearing and they told us that we only had half an hour to go. We learned that 30 italian minutes ...
Trento, Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy peter148... generally don't see many Americans and it is fun to be here because we feel like celebrities. When we arrived yesterday after a long day of travelling, sweating and lugging our backpacks around, Marcella (the mother we are staying with) said we looked like American actresses. We just laughed and knew that if she thought our tired, sweaty faces looked pretty, we were going to love it ...
