... it wasn't as panoramic as I had hoped, there is dense forest, and though you get a few glimpses through of amazing clear blue lakes and pools, mostly you are just in rain forest. At the top when you get off, you can start walking back down over boardwalks back to where we started, and then catch the ferry. This was our plan, to walk back down with the kids and for Haze and Keith to catch the bus back down, then a ferry to P2 where we would meet them in about 2 ...

... with waterfalls dotted throughout, and just lovely scenery. There was even one waterfall towards the end, literally named 'The Big Waterfall’ where we spent a bit of extra time just chilling out at. We managed to do the trail in less than the stated 3-4 hours, so after a quick shuttle back to the entrance where we started, we were able to replenish ourselves with some cool Croatian beer J Afterwards we wandered back ...

Plitvice: Natural Croatia at its Finest

... speed trap. I had performed an illegal pass. Part of me wondered whether the truckers knew what was going on and were in cahoots with the cops. Regardless, the cops were generally friendly, although they insisted that because we were tourists, we had to pay the 500 Kuna (~$80) fine on the spot. I had enough money but amazingly, the cops didn't have change. So one of the cops drove off in his beat-up Volkswagon (not a cop car) to the Bancomat to get ...
