... heavily guarded by some ill-tempered soldier with a massive, loaded G3.
Car:
Vehicles are not allowed on the passenger ferry and arrive two days later on a very rickety cargo barge. Getting the vehicle through customs requires another two to three days and more nerves – not to mention baksheesh (bribes).
Second ferry experience: Nuweiba (Egypt) – Aqaba (Jordan): approx: 70km
The ferry here is actually an old Danish ...
... Greek wine and their local Ouzo. I ate Pastitsia, a pie with layers of pasta and meat but I kept eating Stee's dinner of this fish cooked in peppers and onions. Vance doesn't do fish so he had a harder time with the menu options. Everyone was in a great mood so we ended up just sitting and talking and laughing and drinking and eating for quite awhile.
Corfu, Ionian Islands, Greece mylifesjourney... pool. (Yes. Laps. What?) And today, day three, not only did I take a spinning class (who the hell AM I?!?!?!?) I spent $70 on makeup. W-H-A-T? Seriously, I don't know what Europe is doing to me. Don't get me wrong, I like it. I like the heck out of it. But sometimes I just look in the mirror and laugh at myself and what I'm doing. Oh. And. I found out that I maybe do like red onions after all. I can not tell you the number of times I gagged like a 3-year-old when I'd see ...
Corfu Town, Ionian Islands, Greece josiezim... it looked like they were kung fu kicking in slow motion and they walked like this for nearly half a block. Our thighs ached on their behalf.
Olympia next stop and we enjoyed sitting on the water’s edge at a café enjoying the scenery and atmosphere of the quaint seaside town.
Story continued on next blog, as either Robyn the official blog writer is writing too much or Chris the official blog photographer is taking too many pictures!!!!!!!!!!!!
... And then there were more drinks and card playing on the boats (and some inappropriate usage of the radios..... ) and some dancing and midnight swimming and all in all just a fantastic day and night.
Next morning I woke up really early for some unknown reason, and watched the sun come up whilst listening to my ipod and lying on deck. Was soooo nice. Then we had cereal for brekkie (according to my travel diary... Not sure where we had milk from...) and set sail ...
... the bus full of our grocery bags and headed for the port. We didn't have too long to wait before boarding the ship and had actually pretty good little rooms. Dean, Dangerous Dave and I shared a little cabin and we had a tasty dinner on board the ship. After din dins we went up on deck and enjoyed the amazing sunset and chatted and chillaxed. It was such a nice night. We had cabin chats and then it was time for bed.
Next morning we were up bright and ...
... they spend a lot of time relaxing, because they live on an island. I have only one dislike. The water was too cold and dirty for my taste, but there are a lot of swimming pools around, so I didn't need to swim in the open. This journey was a fun journey and I will never forget it.
Corfu Town, Ionian Islands, Greece indianabones... in the best area of town, ports rarely are, but it certainly coloured our thinking. Others who took arranged excursions were quite impressed, and once we strolled further into the old town, about 3km, we did discover beneath the old fortifications, some attractive and interesting shopping areas. Sadly the graffiti had also found its way there.
Corfu Town, Ionian Islands, Greece bucksbeach... being a ****ing hero (revealed to be a fraud several days later) for waking up and signing us up for the booze cruise
Cliffjumping
-Smitty buckling his nuts in his naked jump (you could hear the slapping sound from the boat). He wondered why all the guys were grabbing their nuts while jumping ("Stop being ******* bys")
-Callahan's near-death experience with the climb up followed by displaying impeccable form in the jump

Corfu and Greece weren't originally on our travel plans but the call of the Corfu Sea School - Steve, Tania and Roman - was load and clear: Discover this corner of Greece via the means of transport it was intended - under sail. We pitched up at Camp Site Dyonisus and, after a long afternoon's pool time, we were both thoroughly chilled out (bar a minor episode when Eoghan spotted white insects sticking to every available blade of grass, then ...
