The flat has central heating so is very cosy, a living room-lounge-kitchen, a bedroom with a double bed!(seems like single after our king) and a bathroom etc. the view from the balcony down the lake is superb. Unfortunately it has been overcast and rainy since we arrived so we have not seen it at its best yet. Some sun is on the way we hope! Our major disappointment has been to find ...

After we checked out the museum at the castle thing, we headed down to the lake for the famous cream cake invented in the area. The website said to eat it top ...

... museum in Eastern Europe - there are 65 bee keepers who manage some 5,000 hives. We opted not to visit, but instead visited the Gingerbread Museum which is in the basement of a cafe that sells gingerbread. The bakery has been in operation for over 500 years (it shut down for about 100 years in the 1700's). The ladies who make the gingerbread were delightful, showed us the equipment and how the gingerbread is made, and one of them had distant relatives who live in Vancouver. She ...
