... and hand wash everything in the sink. Not the most relaxing day, but clean clothes are nice! While the drive today was absolutely breathtaking, it was nerve-racking as well. Between that and the laundry ordeal, we enjoyed relaxing the rest of the day, trying to unwind. Tomorrow we will get out & explore a bit more. And hopefully the weekend tourists will have gone ...

Today we picked up a rental car and headed for the mountains! As with many rentals, we got something bigger than we reserved because that was what they had...it's not too big though, and so far it has treated us well. Holding up to 20 people, these traditional boats have been used to take people to the church on the island in the middle of the lake since the 1500s. Sue spent the morning at the island and ...

... to sodding wait. She was as rude to the sales assistant as she was to me and Mattijs and I both left completely appalled at her behaviour. On our crossing back to the mainland, my beloved hat got blown into the lake (two very kind kayakers retrieved it but it was rather munted).

In the evening, we took a trip up to Bled Castle, a hefty fifteen minute hike up a cliff. It was around 5pm at this point which we thought naively would be a good time to visit because the majority ...
