... old city that we didn't have enough time to explore. Given it's got more or less the the same population as Geelong the number of buildings and amount of public infrastructure is quite impressive. Caught the funicular up the hill to the castle for views over the city.

Tonight we arrived in Bled. The attraction here being Lake Bled with the country's only island in it and the castle overlooking the lake. ...

A few more short hikes, including one to a waterfall that you could walk behind, completed the day.

Given the weather’s inconsistency and the length of the crossing (also my testy ability to row correctly!) we thought about whether it was wise to hire a boat. In the end it was and easy choice. You only live once right. We hired a row boat and off we went. The journey from where we hired the boat I would say was a good km. Now I had rowed before but ...

... just hung out at the hostel, chatting, watching movies and listening to music with everyone. Ben slept all day as it turns out he was up all night the night before with food poisoning, assumed to be from the kebab that night. As the afternoon came the skies dried out and started to clear, so I took a walk around the lake. The walk was around 6 kilometres but I took my time and really took in the scenery. The lakes is surrounded by a paved path that winds it's way along the lakes ...
