... war, and his case of youthful heartbreak in his novel 'A Farewell to Arms'."

We survived our ride back through the mountains arriving in Bled mid-afternoon. Deb decided to get some exercise and climbed the 400+ steps to the Bled castle. The €10 fee just to enter the castle was a rip-off so she was content to take a few pictures of the view and walk back. It was a lovely evening with just a touch of autumn crispness in the air so we decided to dine al ...

It was clear to all of us in the van that the driver/hostel owner had driven this road multiple times. He flew around it. The road went through small towns, along skinny one way tracks, through hedges and past multiple tiny little farms with brick fences. The road was very quaint and clearly historical. Would have been great if we could have seen ...

... drove to the Bohinj region approximately 20min from Bled and drove up some narrow paved roads and eventually pulled off to a dirt track where we parked. We then stripped off and suited up in semi-dry wetsuits and helmets then walked our way uphill through green forests. We were soon greeted by the sound of rushing water and were briefed on the safety procedures of our tour. It was not long before we were walking through the ice cold mountain waters and canyons of the Bohinj region.
