This morning we left the picturesque Plitvice and Croatia behind us to head to Slovenia. Our stop for lunch was at the capital of Slovenia - Ljubljana. The city centre felt more urban than our last few stops - business people dressed for work, but a lovely pedestrian area with green space, the Three Bridges as well as some lovely architecture. ... cool pictures with the go pro but they didn't turn out as expected, we still got some great shots though. The walk back was nice, we kept a good pace and got back to the bikes ready for the easy trip home. Don got his go pro ready to film and off we went. It was exhilarating! ... right next to the castle, which required a little scrambling to get to but was absolutely worth it - every direction had postcard-worthy views. Next to the viewpoint was a small rock face with a few bolted sport-climbing routes on it - an incredible spot for a climb, if a little unexpected! ... so we decided to find somewhere to have coffee.
We found an old pub which served a decent espresso and stood at the bar and drank our coffee. In Italy, coffee is cheaper if it is drunk at the bar rather than sitting in as they charge service and cover charges for the use of tables in most parts of Europe. It is also more expensive to sit and drink your coffee outside in the alfresco areas. After our shot of caffeine to keep us going the hunger started to set in. So with the use ...
