... we were taken aback by the train station alone. It is huge ( you can easily get lost), with so much going on, lots of signs, people and shops!!!!! We spent some time walking around and checking it out. The building has a glass walkway high in the ceiling that you can walk and get views of the city. Nice! After checking in at a hotel near the station we decided to take the train outside the city to view the river ( they have ...

... upsetting that the tour company continued with a tour to see a mountain that they knew would not be visible without notifying passengers first. It was very upsetting when we were not able to get the bullet train tickets that we had already paid for and then had to pay out of pocket to get back home.

I finally got a good nights sleep. I left a pile of garbage in the hotel room, because I had been packing all of it around. I repacked better too. I left the hotel at 8:45 am (five minutes early!). I drove to the Honda Collection Hall/Motegi Twin Ring again. I picked up the souvenir I wanted, and saw parts of the museum that I blazed through before. The property that the Twin Ring is on is massive. There's a hotel and amusement park. Renting a car is really ...

... at the Hakone hotel. An exceptional western style buffet.
A short walk through a planted cedar forest over 150 years old to the pier for a boat ride on the lake. Would have been really gorgeous if the sun was out.
Next stop was the sculpture park. An outdoor display of western and Japanese scuptures which was diverse and vibrant. The star attraction of the outdoor museum is a Picasso gallery with the largest collection of works of ...

... rain forest with here and there some rice and wasabi fields. We go over Funabara Pass and after a beautiful, long and winding drive we finally arrive at the Hotel. To get to the hotel you have to drive through a charming and hilly residential area. The hotel itself is surrounded by a sports complex, there are multiple tennis courts and a soccer and baseball field, all belonging to the Winery. Like in so many hotels in Japan there is a large gift shop containing lots of ...
