    ... I guess we will continue to be asked “what was our favourite part of the trip”. My formal reply shall be.. I can’t even try to generalise the USA in any matter, not even to pick a best place. The diversity we encountered was staggering in both scenery and culture and a comparison between apples and oranges is never warranted. However I would love to see more of Wyoming and maybe explore New York in a different phase of life.

    ... wheels on my feet again! Skating on Venice beach was the name of the game and I was very impressed with how quickly Jinny took to it. She went from "I'm not sure, but I *think* I might be having a good time" to "I'm definitely having a good time" in about five minutes. And not even a hint of falling over. An hour and a half later we were back in the hotel, seething at the amount we had had to spend on a taxi and then realised this was the only way we could have gotten back to the hotel.
