Historical Traveler Reviews of Good Nite Inn San Diego Sea World Sports Arena
Was not BAD!!
from A TripAdvisor Member
This place was NOT as bad as most people made it out to be. I will admit - I was scared of my choice until we arrived. This place was perfectly fine and clean!! We had two families stay here and they made every accomodation to put our families in rooms next to each other. It was a good place to relax and to sleep after a day at the beaches, driving around, etc. Although not in a pristine area - it IS close to Sea World and the beach and it IS a clean and comfortable hotel. We WILL stay there again on our next visit. My only recommendations would be to serve a continental breakfast (or at least have coffee) so we didn't have to go to Denny's or Jack in the Box. Thank you staff for a comfortable stay.
It was a nice place to stay; I'd do it again!

My partner and I stayed at the Good Nite Inn Sea World between July 16-20 for the San Diego Comic-Con.
The staff, especially Loren, were nice and courteous. And extremely helpful, too! I noted that some character wrote that there was an hour wait at the Denny's across the street. We didn't have to wait longer than 1 minute and I timed it. We ate there at all hours of the day.
Mass transit was fairly close by; there were shopping centers literally in every direction; and everybody treated us respectfully.
I'd stay there again, and I probably will for the next Comic-Con or generally for my next trip to San Diego.
Not complaining
from A TripAdvisor Member
I have to admit after reading the reviews on here I was scared to stay at the Good Nite Inn, but after my visit, I don't know what anyone is complaining about. Our room was clean and inexpensive. The staff was very helpful. Yeah, it was near a nudie bar, but I saw nudie bars all over San Diego. The location was great if you want to be near a lot of restaurants and really close to the attractions. I'm not complaining, especially since we didn't have to spend much money.
Beware!

Go to priceline and bid on something. This place is not where you want to die!
It not the desk clercks, its the hotel
from A TripAdvisor Member
the desk clerks seem to be overworked and need a day off. I stayed there for 5 days and only saw 2 clerks working. One in the morning and one at night. ( note everyday it was the same clerks) I guess its jus too much for them, dealing with irrate guests which come across very rude to them. (ive seen it) is the reason why they lack compassion. I mean if you keep telling someone that they are not worth anything, after awhile, they start to believe it. Ive read all the comments here, and so many people have ragged about the desk not doing anything... how can they when they are understaffed!! like for instance, i just read about the people "double parking" and the desk not doing anything... first of all... how can they?! they didn't park the car! I mean a person can only do so much, and have you ever heard of the quote " treat people how you want them to treat you." if your rude to them, then their rude to you. Simple as that. Just because they work there, doesnt give you the right to talk down to them, and talk trash about them. the hotel is what you pay for. I mean for $40.00 a night, you surely dont expect getting room service and mints on your pillow... the good nite inn is not a hilton.
Good Nite Inn Sea World

This is the fourth year we have stayed at the GoodNight Inn for your annual football road trip. For the money, it's a good deal. The staff is freindly, and while the rooms are not tremendously appointed, it is very conveinent to get there and back on the road.
Disgusting - you get less than what you pay for

i'm getting innoculated right now for potential diseases.
this place is DISGUSTING
location: conveniently located between I-5 and I-8, close to sea world, old town, stadium, nudie clubs, fast food
price: sea world/zoo pkg - better to just pay for the tickets with your hard earned money and stay next door at the hampton inn
distinctive and unpleasant odors, don't bother requesting non-smoking room (non-existant)
note the algae growing under the swamp coolers in the hallways, mold/mildew in bathroom, filth between carpet and wall, and just general filth
office crew is not very helpful nor do they care
note the expired elevator certificate/license
do not bring your children into this place
Gay friendly
from A TripAdvisor Member
The motel is not a palace. What it lacks in accomodations, it makes up in it's guest service. Featured in "Lifestyles Magazine" as being one of the few gay owned and managed hotels in San Diego, the Good Nite Inn Seaworld is well known and appreciated in the California gay community.I had a splendid stay. It was my first time in San Diego and I had no idea what to do. three of the managers spotted me fumbling through the brouchre rack and asked if I needed help finding anything. They helped me plan my days and nights. What service!!!! I would highly recommend this motel to anyone who values great guest service over room cleanliness...
It Sucks!

The Good Nite Inn on Greenwood is good only if you want an inexpensive place to sleep. Otherwise, the patrons in adjoining rooms are noisey! People park their cars in TWO spaces an complaining to the office gets you NADA! And going to the Denny's across the street to eat is a good one hour wait...just to get seated in summer days!
Fine, but not great
from A TripAdvisor Member
The room had a bad smell, not cigarette smoke though.
The nudie bars around the corner on the way in gave a bad
impression, but it's not their fault and not really reflective of the
neighbourhood.
Was very quiet, clean, and cheap.
Should have had a pool, being in San Diego.
