The Final Days starts with another huge breakfast at Denny's just next to the hotel. After a short fight with the SatNav we find the I15 and head off back to Temecula. Arriving at Greg’s Auntie by 11 we meet up with Greg and the girls again and Aunt Cheryl who made everyone feel very welcome. After a short stop The 4 of us head off to Los Angeles to return the bikes. Turning off the I15 on to route 74 we hit our final stretch of decent roads over mount Elisi...

Sailing... I'm Sailing away.... sailing.....

... travel together. Dinner was lovely as usual, steamed mussels for me, pate plate for Michael, and we both had the pork medallions that were good. We did not have wine though, I was too tired and wanted to make it through dinner without passing out in my dessert, which was cherry cordial ice cream for us both.

Back in the cabin, I looked in the mirror as I brushed my teeth and wondered if I looked that bad at dinner? I certainly hoped I ...

Dana's Random Thoughts

... thought someone must have stolen it. (who steals chest straps off a back pack though, really?!) Later, he thought he must have taken the chest strap off himself and hid it in a pocket to make sure it wouldn't break on the plane. Now, he thinks maybe his backpack never even came with a chest strap.

San Diego and New Plans

... carrier USS Midway was decommissioned after the Gulf War after serving since 1945, and is now set up as a fully functional muesem in the San Diego harbour. In just over an hour, we managed to squeeze in a lot on the floating fortress. We saw the engine rooms, jail (brig), main hangers, flight deck, pilots ready rooms, the captains and admirals quarters, and the war room. On the flight deck there was a huge variety of planes and helicopters that have been used over the ...

THE BIG DAY!!

... a tissue to give to him. I on the other hand, got through mine through sheer will power. Even though I came close to panic when I lost my place. I don't know if anyone else noticed. We did the sand ceremony with the kids, and it was beautiful! I'm so happy we did it, and it will be a great souvenier. Onto the cake cutting and pictures. We had so much fun playing in the waves and the sand for the pictures and got ...

Day 7

... ended up getting us to the park late for the only time we weren't in our seats for first pitch (we missed most of the first inning). Conveniently, this was the game we had paid for "good" seats --- about 30 rows back off the third base dugout. We were also excited because the visitors to Petco Park were our favorite team, the Chicago Cubs. Petco is a cool, and vast, park. It takes quite a while to walk around. It reminds me of a mall on the interior with a ...

Day Thirty: Lions, Tigers, and Bears?

10:10 - Woke up late to go to the zoo. We were aiming at waking up at 8:00 and leaving by 8:30. Oh well, off to the zoo! 6:32 - Spent the day at the zoo. Parking was free and finding the zoo was easy. We first saw the kangaroos, rhinos, bears, and lots of cats down Cat Canyon. We saw lots of reptiles including snakes, Gila monsters, and lizards oh my! I am a dork. We saw tons of birds, monkeys, more rhinos I think, and big ass elephants. One elephant seemed like he was ...
