    ... and yodelling while making cheese…so who was I to judge. Finally, we tore ourselves away from a place that is so obviously a favourite and took the gondola down from our perch up high.

    With a whopping 25 minutes to wait before the last gondola down to catch the train, Thibaut announced “Well, if we need to wait, who wants a beer?”

    ... spectacular views we thought we'd see where covered by cloud. Saw glimpses when the clouds parted but not much. Very pretty cold up there at 3??? Metres was about 7. A new James Bond exhibition had just opened in June so we went there. Amazing that it was free. It was very good with memorabilia from the film "on her majesty's secret service which had been filmed there. ...

    ... The place was very green and there seems to be a large farming community.

    With my satnav set-up to take me to the town of Bern, Switzerland it meant passing through the capital of Luxembourg which is also called Luxembourg. This was quite a struggle as there was loads of traffic and so added quite a bit of time onto my day. However it also gave me time to look at some of the beautiful buildings of this city.

    From there we set off on our hike, joined by the masses, to see the big lakes up in the mountains as a first stop, then onto Scheringe Platte, only if we could last the full 6 hours. The 50 minute walk to the lakes was mostly up hill and most of the tourists (me included) were taking little breaks to 'look at the view' before continuing onwards.
