Midsummer is the biggest event on the Swedish calendar, Andrea's local village spent all morning making preparations across the street for the villages celebrations. Marquees and outdoor BBQs could be seen in yards everywhere.

We drove to another village to visit Per, a friend of Andreas who was on exchange in Sydney, visiting us in Geelong one time.

roughly, language always amazes me as to how context, gestures and some

We walked into the centre of the village to watch the
raising of the May pole, which traditionally celebrates fertility and
midsummer. Niklas very wittily asked 'How many ho's does it take to
raise a pole' as the volunteers all shouted 'hey-ho' ...
