I concluded my 2 month adventure with a 2 day visit to Anna's aunt Birgitta in Leksand, which is in the traditional Dalicarlian region of Sweden. I should note we had a small delay on the train ride up to Leksand since the train hit a moose, which apparently isn't that uncommon here. Birgitta has been the best host up here taking me around and cooking us the best meals (in fact I have to get ...
Leksand, Swedish Lakeland, Sweden danwstephensHey all,<br>I went to uppsala which was a forty minute train ride because there was a few things I wanted to see there and where happened to be my hotel. Uppsala had actually burned down a while back and was rebuilt. It is smaller than I expected. I saw the castle there (not too spectacular) but the botanical gardens (part of the castle) was. It was beautiful.
Uppsala, Swedish Lakeland, Sweden tonkin... that they knew served good Swedish food. Upon arrival, what did we find? The Chinese had taken over. Well, we all like Chinese food especially a buffet with Beer included for only 79sek about $11.00, well let me advise you now, DO NOT EAT CHINESE FOOD IN SWEDEN! After eating, we headed back to L&L's for coffee and some of Foster Lilly's cookies. Sadly, at about 3:00 we had to say our tearful goodbyes with promises to keep in touch and return ...
Orebro, Swedish Lakeland, Sweden houghtaling... Then set out to find my Father's grave. We knew that we were headed it the right direction, but when we arrived, all we saw was a Industrial Park. Deciding to give up the idea we headed back to the shopping mall to return a dress I bought in the wrong size. While on our ride, I again looked at the map and realized that we were indeed in the right area for the cemetery only on the wrong side of the interstate. We turned around and finally found the cemetery, but now ...
Orebro Sweden, Örebro County, Sweden houghtaling... just right. It wasn't too short and not too long. The last presentation was mine and was entitled "The Gospel of the Kingdom of God." We passed out the last of the handouts and tidied up the meeting hall. A number of our people had to leave on the 1:06 PM train that headed towards Stockholm. Some of the brethren such as the Asians both in Norway and Finland had to leave earlier for their respective destinations. We are talking about doing ...
Leksand, Sweden victorkubik... Children teaching English as a Second Language and helping with a summer camp session. He showed some very fine photos of the activities in Ukraine. The others who participated in this project were Dan and Cindy Harper from Cherbourg, France and Ken Zahora from the Lafayette, Indiana Church area where I am pastor. We have worked with these Street Children since 2001. It's been one of the ...
Leksand, Sweden victorkubik... Paul Spenser and Ben Haworth were there in two white vans to pick us up. There was no other transportation and they arranged to pick people who were coming in. The Molnbyggen Strand where we are staying is about four miles away. You have to be careful how you use miles and kilometers. There is such a thing as a "Swedish mile." It is equivalent to ten kilometers. So, if you as a taxi how far ...
Falun, Sweden owinI went to Sweden to visit a friend of a friend! We had a great time - I was staying with him at his University Halls and made loads of really great new friends from all over the world. It snowed, it rained, it flooded - and then it for so hot we were sunbathing! I had a fantastic time visiting the local museums, getting drunk, getting to know more about traditional Swedish culture and came home with many great memories.
