... the next was 42-43 and the last one was 39-40. It seems to be a local meeting spot where women gather to chat while enjoying the rejuvenating waters of the hot springs. Our hotel has its own onsens as well. You can reserve the rooms to yourself which is nice. Brad and I decided to check out the outdoor onsen one evening. We arrived in Hiroshima and it was raining. It is rainy season here in Japan and although we've hardly had blue skies, the grey haze has protected us from the possible heat from the sun. It's bad already with the humidity here that is pretty strong. We've been sweating like crazy! Hiroshima is best known for being the first place ever to be hit by an atomic bomb. On August 6, 1945 At 8:15am. Hiroshima was destroyed. Just like Nagasaki, Hiroshima has a memorial park and museum. ...

... western Japan. An 'arcade' here is a long street shopping area that is usually covered. All towns have one of these and it's always fun to visit them! They have so many things and they package everything so beautifully!!!! For example, they'll put a cookie in a wrapper, then the cookies go in a box, then wrap the box, then sealed with a ribbon to look like a present!!!! Jeez!! Now on to Beppu! We arrived with a mission...... to visit an ...
