Leaving our lovely apartment in Lyon, we said farewells to our excellent host Carole and sped off down the A47 to Chambery. We had had a terrific time in exploring the tip of the iceberg of Lyon, walking many kilometres of enchanting streets, wandering in and out of many shops, galleries museums and frequenting many of the bars, cafes and restaurants.

It started to rain at about 6 on Thursday, got heavier during the night and is forecast to last the rest of Friday before normal service of mid-20s and Sun is resumed on Saturday so today is a bit of a washout.
