        ... we enjoyed our last lunch in the dining room then reluctantly packed our bags & disembarked. Caught a taxi to out hotel, the gorgeous historic Intercontinental Marseille Hotel Dieu. Our amazing executive room had a large undercover terrace with a panoramic view over the Old Port.

        ... We bought a small bag full and devoured them with relish! After all, we had pre-walked them off. Back to the ship and we sailed from port on a beautiful cloudless 30 degree day. Our first formal dinner tonight. The food was absolutely magnificent - the best ever Beef Wellington. Needed a few laps around the Promenade Deck after that. The sea has been as smooth as glass.         This weekend was so much fun! Our group had our second and final UM excursion to Marseille, and I am so glad that we ended up getting to go. There were a few complications with the logistics of the trip, so we didn't know if we were for sure going to Marseille or Avignon, but we ultimately ended up going to Marseille as a group. Marseille was one of the most beautiful places I've ever gone to, and I was truly amazed by the Mediterranean city.

        ... had a friend who had some sort of second home in Bandol, about 10 miles West of Toulon. She said Bandol was like Toulon, but less rich, which sounded good to us.         ... bus they would be more than welcome – except I really want my murano glass elephants thankyou and a pair of ghost salt and pepper shakers that I promised to find! Just to add to the joys of the day the air conditioning is not working although the seats are comfy!!
