... bread, cheese and sausage and had a picnic on top of the Col du Lautaret.

We then drove across the Alps again this time via Galibier and the Telegraphe where Mich pulled the pin on driving after seeing tyre tracks that lead over the edge of the narrow road.

More on Galibier tomorrow as I ride it in the opposite direction on the classic Telegraphe/Galibier 35km climb.

In the hope of getting out of the bad weather of Les Deux Alpes, we headed for our next stop near Lac De Paladru, unfortunately we didn't, if anything the weather was worse with almost constant rain for the 2days we stayed, we were still recovering from our bugs so we again spent most of our time in the van..

We took a couple of walks out in between the showers so again not much to report here....

Just a pin in the map!

I can't explain what was so magical about this run, but I felt incredible. After getting back to the apartment building and sprinting up the six floors, I came back to the door and smiled as I jiggled the key to get ...

The Napolean Way to Grenoble, France

... Perfume factory in Grasse. Fragonard has been producing perfume since 1926 and is only sold in France, but it can be bought online. It's a company that has maintained its traditions and has been owner by the same family. It's no wonder perfume can be expensive, it takes 3 tonnes of flowers to make one litre of essence. We bought some soaps and Amy's favourite perfume was called ...
